What does it mean to survive within the flowing rhythm of time? Daily Survivals does not seek answers in major catastrophes, but in quiet moments, the architecture of our existence, and strategies of resistance. Four photographers explore the subject along a spectrum that ranges from the most intimate sanctuaries to urban structures and human resilience.
Naz Genel turns her gaze toward the most intimate human sanctuary: the bed. In the meticulous details of sheets, pillows, and the play of light reflecting on the wall, the bedroom materializes as the last fortress—a place where one survives by simply leaving the outside world behind, protected by privacy. Born in Kayseri. In 2026, they graduated from Bilkent University’s Department of Communication and Design with the project "Palimpsest of a Memory." Her work is primarily focused on photography and printmaking techniques.
The first step outside the door is symbolized by the work of Coşkun Demirok. The photographs document the urban voids between rows of public housing blocks. Composed of drawn curtains and impersonal facades, this functional "no-man's-land" makes visible the isolation created by modern mass architecture and the struggle to survive within an anonymous system. Architect and artist. They work across various fields of art and have brought the "garage" project to life, which they continue to run. Born in Ankara, they have been
living in Düsseldorf for 55 years.
The work of Sevim Aydın forms a conscious counterpoint to this urban constriction. The ambiguous landscapes and deserted urban spaces captured during long walks serve as visual breathing spaces; they offer the viewer a realm for deep contemplation and mental renewal.
Economics graduate and photographic artist. In the photographs taken during long walks,
they approach the concept of survival by taking it beyond the crowds, focusing on the connection the human being establishes with space, nature, and their own silence. Rather than merely documenting a landscape, they record the gaze produced by the act of walking.
At the center of Heiko Schäfer’s work is the human being itself. His portraits capture individuals who face life's challenges with pride and deep contentment. Here, the circle closes: survival ultimately transforms into a matter of inner posture and the triumph of the joy of living.
Diploma in Fine Arts, Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, State-Certified Photo Designer, Lette Verein Berlin / Professional Experience: Freelance photographic and artistic practice, commissioned photography, teaching/ Core Competencies: Photographic practice, history and theory of photography.
Together, this exhibition casts a multi-layered glance at the present moment,
while inviting the viewer to re-evaluate their own sanctuaries, surrounding
spaces, and survival strategies.

2026 yılında Bilkent Üniversitesi iletişim ve tasarım bölümünü „Palimpsest of a memory“ projesiyle bitirmiştir.
Heiko Schäfer’in çalışmalarının merkezinde ise doğrudan insanın kendisi yer alıyor.
